Isolde grew up in the wilds outside of Gridania to two renowned hunters who worked for the Adventurer’s Guild. She and her family left Gridania for years when the Calamity happened. She moved back to Gridania at the age of 18 (which is where ARR would start for her.). Afterwards, she would lend a hand to those in need, assisting the Scions and the Alliance as a talented huntress and scout. She would put her skills to use in the best ways she could, telling the Warrior of Light and the Scions where to find people and enemies. She would join the Scions in their fight against Garlemald after them and the Warrior of Light would get back from the First, though step away to allow them to do everything in Ultima Thule with Meteion.
Before the Garleans unleashed Dalamud and doomed Eorzea, Isolde and her parents lived in a small village in the forest outside of Gridania. Her parents taught her the art of the bow at a young age, showing her how to shoot a target and all the basic necessities that one needs to defend themselves with a bow. Everything was peaceful and happy. Then, things changed, when Garlemald unleashed Dalamud, summoning Bahamut. In the midst of the destruction and meteor rain, Isolde and her family raced away from the forest in a carriage being pulled by the family’s chocobo, Veris, a bright gold chocobo with purple barding. As she watched the meteors fall on top of everything, she saw from a distance a great big stream of blinding light coming from where the Alliance was fighting the Empire. Isolde’s family kept going, eventually traveling to Sharlayan and finding a living there. She spent many years studying in the corridors of her home in Sharlayan before moving back to help in Gridania at the age of 18, picking the bow back up and joining the Archer’s Guild and the Adventurer’s Guild. During her time in Sharlayan, she would meet G’raha Tia while in a class and fall in love with him, though wouldn’t see him until later on in their adult years.During ARR, she would meet Papalymo and Yda while helping to investigate a problem in the forest. They would go their separate ways shortly after retrieving the blade, crossing paths again after she helps a member of the Conjurer’s Guild fight off a rock golem, separating again after introductions were over. She wouldn’t see them again for a while after that, receiving news of the banquet and how Eorzea’s Warrior of Light and the Scions were at fault for what had become of Nanamo. She didn’t believe it and decided to try and reach out to whatever connections she had to try and find any members of the Scions who hadn’t been at the banquet. Her asking had managed to reach the ears of a company of fellow adventurers who had taken in the famed Warrior of Light, earning her a spot to stand in a group that the hero was in. Though the two wouldn’t cross paths until later, she would hear about what the Warrior of Light was up to since the banquet, learning that the Warrior of Light had managed to get to Ishgard with some of the Scions, thanks to Lord Haurchefant.
During Heavensward, Isolde would occasionally help the Adventurer’s Guild with any tasks that needed to be done, which usually was helping people who looked like they were in trouble. In that time, she would see news about the Warrior of Light and the Scions’ innocence and news about the reappearances of a majority of them, including Papalymo and Yda. She would also see news of Ishgard agreeing to join the Alliance and of Ishgard’s peace with the dragons, all thanks to the Warrior of Light. She would help the Alliance with freeing Baelsar’s Wall, though would become terrified upon seeing Bahamut being summoned by one of the traitors from the Crystal Braves. She would calm her nerves though and steel herself, helping in what ways she could. Though she would learn of Papalymo’s death to seal away Bahamut, she thinks of it as a way to ensure that the Alliance can safely enter Ala Mhigo. Upon setting up a camp, she would overhear someone talking about Yda and her real name, learning that she’s not Yda, but is actually her sister Lyse.During Stormblood, Isolde would be providing assistance to the Alliance in their fight in Ala Mhigo. She would stay there for a while, waiting for the Warrior of Light and the Scions to free Doma. After Doma’s freedom is secured and everyone returns to help in Ala Mhigo, Isolde learns about someone that the Warrior of Light had encountered who had been taken away by the Empire, and decides to use her skills to try and find that person and free them from the Empire. After Ala Mhigo reclaims its freedom, she watches as the Warrior of Light and the person she helped free reunite before leaving to help elsewhere.
During Shadowbringers, Isolde spends time helping Tataru and Krile with any tasks that need to be handled. It’s during that time that she meets Estinien, who is doing the same thing. While helping Tataru and Krile, she learns about the predicaments that the Scions are in, from them being summoned to another world when the Alliance was declaring war on the Empire, to anything else happening. When the Warrior of Light returns to tell Tataru the news of what’s transpired on the First, Isolde is away taking care of something for Krile. After the Warrior of Light goes back to the First, Tataru fills Isolde in on everything, including how G’raha Tia is in the First. This news surprises her, but she puts a brave face on and listens to Tataru explain everything. When the Scions and G’raha and the Warrior of Light return to the Source, she and G’raha cross paths again when he’s leaving Mor Dhona with the Scions. The two of them would catch up for a brief moment before he joins the Scions and the Warrior of Light, who watches the purple haired miqo’te walk away, thinking of an idea in her mind. Before Endwalker, Isolde receives a letter from the Warrior of Light, inviting her to become an official Scion, thanking her for helping Tataru and Krile while she was away, and asking if they can meet to talk about their shared interest in a certain red haired male miqo’te. She would agree and the two would meet in the Rising Stones, discussing Isolde’s official membership in the Scions and what it would mean for her. While talking with the brown and teal haired au’ra in front of her, Isolde would notice a couple of others by her side, all of which would be looking at her with the same intent as the one in front of her. Isolde would become an official member shortly after answering some questions, questions that the Warrior of Light might have been asked at one point.During Endwalker, Isolde would lend her support to the Alliance, the Scions, and the Warrior of Light, giving each party a chance to loosen the control that Zenos and Fandaniel had on the Empire as well as giving the Scions and the Warrior of Light a chance to find a way to finish their fight with Zenos and their fight against Meteion and her sisters, averting the Final Days, supporting them from Sharlayan. After the Scions disband, she would journey to new worlds, looking for new hunts. She would also allow G’raha to be with the Warrior of Light, knowing that the au’ra had fallen for him. Before Dawntrail, she would meet Wuk Lamat on one of her journeys. She would accompany her to Old Sharlayan, paying a visit to her parents before watching the female hrothgar meet the famed Warrior of Light who would be spending time with her loved ones. She’d watch as the brown haired girl would take the hrothgar everywhere in Sharlayan, though would be reminded by Erenville that they had somewhere else to be.During Dawntrail, Isolde would go off to hunt something by herself when she would end up meeting a miqo’te with dark teal hair and glasses. The two of them would introduce themselves and talk for hours, both being amazed to find someone like the person they saw in front of them. Upon returning to the others, Wuk Lamat would introduce him as one of her brothers. Isolde would lend her support to the others in the trials that would follow, though wouldn’t entirely participate in the whole sibling competition for leadership. After going to Solution Nine with the others, Isolde would get taken to Sphene for some reason, and immediately dislike her ideas, claiming that doing this kind of thing was wrong. She would escape after the others come to save her, but not before telling Sphene that she should find something else to do rather than dwell on the past. Koana would have a talk with her after, asking Isolde if she’s ok after that whole ordeal and saying how anxious it made him. She would reassure him that she’s just fine and that it was kind of cute that he worried so much. After Sphene’s defeat, she would confess her feelings to him, with him saying the same. The two would spend time together after that, disappearing for a little while. Though, she would still lend her support to the Scions if they needed it.
